Hi there, I’m Troy Beckman. I am a seasoned communications and public relations professional with over 20 years of experience managing communications and public relations for government, non-profit and non-governmental organizations, usually in challenging environments around the world — from Bangladesh, Nepal and Ethiopia, to New Orleans, Washington D.C., and many places in between.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, I’m a writer, editor, publicist, photographer, videographer, creator of social media strategies and content, and manager of strategic communications. I offer a well-rounded skill-set to execute campaigns that advocate for a good cause or open doors for increased business opportunities.

Digital communications is a core foundation, from multimedia production and building an audience on social media and increase engagement, to orchestrating data-driven marketing campaigns or executing special events to maximize reach and build the brand of companies, organizations and institutions of all sizes in any corner of the globe.

This site is a portfolio of selected professional and personal content I’ve created over the past decade and beyond. Included are photos and videos I’ve created in my professional life as an international development communications specialist, as well as vignettes captured from the perspective of a random dude traveling the world.

In my spare time, I’m a guitarist in a loud rock and metal band. I’m a former athlete with a sky-high ERA who still hobbles around a softball diamond and basketball court from time to time, and manages to carve a few turns on the nearby slopes of the Wasatch Mountains.

Most importantly, I am a family guy who has been happily married for over 25 years and a proud father of two amazing daughters.

As of April 2025, I am finishing my final gig in Dhaka, Bangladesh and open to new work opportunities — whether in Utah, the United States, or anywhere in the world if the opportunity is right.
