Kaju Badam: Grown in Bangladesh
USAID is proud to support local businesses across Bangladesh in improving the quality of their products to command higher profits and reach new markets. In Bandarban, we have partnered with Kishanghor Agro to train over 500 of their workers to improve the cultivation and processing techniques for their fresh, delicious cashews – a.k.a. kaju badam – and getting their products into supermarkets in Dhaka and beyond. Last year, Kishanghor earned nearly $1.2 million -- or 10 crore taka -- in total sales, leading to higher incomes for workers and fresh quality Bandarban cashews for the rest of us to enjoy!
